Studio Pigeoncreek is a small yarn and fibre studio in Perth, Western Australia, selling online at studiopigeoncreek.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from the shop, what we use it for, and who we share it with.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number and the details of your order.
- If you create an account: your login details and saved addresses, so you can see past orders and check out faster.
- If you contact us: your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
- When you browse: technical information such as your IP address, browser, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see below).
How we use it
We use your information to process and ship your order, to send order and shipping emails, to answer your questions, to handle returns, to keep the site secure, and to understand how the shop is used so we can improve it. We don’t sell your personal information, and we only send marketing emails if you’ve asked us to.
Who we share it with
- PayPal processes payments. Your card or PayPal account details go to PayPal directly; we never see or store your card number. PayPal’s own privacy policy applies to the information you give them.
- Australia Post receives your name, address and contact details so it can deliver your parcel.
- Google (Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit) receives information about how the site is used. We may also use Google’s shopping and advertising tools to show our products in Google, and Pinterest’s tools to show them on Pinterest, which can involve those services’ cookies.
- Automattic (Jetpack) provides site statistics and security protection, which involves processing visitor information such as IP addresses.
- Our email and hosting providers carry order emails and store the website’s data.
Some of these services are based overseas, mainly in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia.
Cookies
The shop uses cookies to keep your cart and login working, to remember which page sent you to us when you place an order, and for the analytics and security services above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout won’t work without them.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax and accounting obligations. Account details are kept until you ask us to delete your account. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we’re not required to keep it. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
